Cristina Costantino
Bio:
Cristina Costantino is on a tremendous ride. Triggered to find her true self after seemingly losing everything she loved most, instead of clawing back a mainstream life, she continued on the path she’d been put on and found the artist that had always existed within. Always moving forward in collaboration with her soul, she lets herself feel all that is unique, yet similar. Illusive, yet real. Exhilarating, yet grounding. Felt up to the soul that sends feelings back down to guide us. Drawing on that depth in all that she does, picking up a brush, she lets go to let in the messages that want to come through. To tell the age-old story of the human spirit’s fight for light and love through abstract, conceptual art.
In the Bloom Collection – she uses abstract flowers to capture the complexity of living through chaotic times and emerging stronger, wiser. The flower is a powerful symbol of growth, resilience, and transformation — its organic, changing form mirrors the individual’s journey. Through her compositions, she explores the emotional shifts of confronting adversity and thriving amidst chaos. The dynamic shapes and gritty backgrounds reflect the intensity of turbulent periods, while the subtle hues offer a respite for one’s senses. As the flowers emerge, they signify how, by weathering the storm, one blooms stronger, with a new and unique depth, clarity, and grace. Symbolizing renewal and suggesting that, even in the most challenging moments, there is the possibility for a life filled with beauty. Creating forms that are somewhat realistic but open to interpretation invites the viewer to see that we can grow and transcend beyond what we thought was possible. Through this body of work, she offers a vision of hope: one that says by embracing change and confronting our own inner turmoil, while navigating the outer, we can emerge from the chaos of our times stronger; cultivating a more dynamic and powerful beauty than the one that existed before.
